View posts since last visit
Hi Just wondered why my View Posts since last visit isn't working? I only noticed today when I saw Missy had been rehomed, which is fantastic by the way. Only a question please not a complaint or debate.

Re: View posts since last visit
Ooh Jeanette!! I never noticed that one before!! That's useful, . I think we all have our own ways of looking at the forum- I always look at the scrolling Latest Topics on the left (or on the right if you're in Portal mode), but I think View Posts since last visit is good too. I have just noticed that if you look at the list, pick one off it (I picked Missy), and then look back at it again by clicking on it from the home page, it says no topics or posts meet your criteria, so did you look at the list, go away and look back at it? Has that changed since you have used it in the past?
I know that Phil has been tinkering for this reverse view after Ann Peters' request, although I don't think it should have affected anything else, but there are some minor problems that we have noticed with the forum software. Sadly, that's the problem when you do things on the cheap rather than pay, and there is zero budget for a forum so we have to go with free software. I notice that if you're not logged on, the choice is not there at all - obviously because it doesn't know who you are to list the posts since your last visit.
Can you try it again, or if anyone else is reading this could they try it too and report back please.

I got this one!
Maybe I wasn't logged on then, so sorry and thanks for such a full answer. I'll have to watch out for that.

Re: View posts since last visit
No probs. It actually makes you take the time and start looking at it more closely. It's like Facebook - you get by but you don't have the time to really look at everything it's capable of. The same with most Microsoft software,
You making me look at that, has made me start looking at everything else on the page. I've noticed, and this will be good for Ann who hates scrolling through the posts, that at the bottom right of every post there is an up and down arrow key which takes you straight to the top and bottom of the page. I was aware of the page numbers at the top if the thread has more than one page, and being able to either right or left arrow or just click the button with the page number, but to be honest, I am so used to scrolling with my mouse scroller that I had just switched off to the other aids on the page.
It always helps to discuss these things because shortcuts are always helpful.

Cookies? Chocolate chip?
Mentioned this to Phil (and bear in mind that he is Mr Techno and I am Mrs Technophobe), and he muttered something about cookies and how it could be different depending on whether you view it from a different computer. Yep, that one went over my head too.
