Liver Cake Empty Liver Cake

Post  Julie Tue Jan 03, 2012 11:00 am

Here is a recipe I use for liver cake - it is great as a training treat for your dogs as it can be broken into tiny pieces:

1lb liver
1lb flour - preferably granary (you can use gluten free too)
3 eggs
2 cloves garlic (or you can use Lazy Garlic, or dried garlic or omit completely if you don't like the smell)
1 teaspoon oil (any oil but I use Olive oil, cod liver oil or hempseed oil for a shinier coat)
splosh of milk

Liquidise liver with eggs, milk, oil & garlic in blender.

Add to flour & mix

Put into a microwavable dish & hollow it slightly in middle, then cook on full power for about 10 mins.

Cut into slices and then into small pieces and either pop in the fridge (will keep for days) or you can put small amounts into bags and pop in the freezer

Defrost when ready to use - it will go mouldy if you do not use it, so best to defrost what you will need over the next few days.

The biggest danger with this recipe is falling over your dog in the kitchen while it is cooking Very Happy
