Iris - Crossbreed, Bitch (14 weeks).
One of the puppies, Abbi, has been fostered by Sarah. She will update the thread as soon as possible.
Re: Iris - Crossbreed, Bitch (14 weeks).
Abbi has settled in really well I will give her a couple of days to get used to her new surroundings & she will then have plenty of photos & tales to share

Abbi has been with us for 5 days now, & what a little star she has turned out to be, from the quiet little pup in the kennels to a confident girl who has taken to the finer things of home life, like a duck to water.
She lives quite happily with 3 foster sisters, the 2 grumpy ones she gives great respect to but she & Jess just play & play ..her head dissapears in Jesses mouth & your heart stops but the next moment she is firmly clamped onto Jesses chin & off they go again....Her manners at dinner time are becoming better, she is not very patient but does sit well waiting for her bowl & everything disapears in a few seconds.
Toilet training is progressing quite well (except when it's pouring down) & we are getting into a good routine..last night was almost perfect it was me who was a little slow opening the back door otherwise it would have been gold star material...during the day it's the usual when she wakes up or at the end of playtime & so far no major problems...I'm sure before long she will bw asking to go out!!! or am I being an overly proud FMum..
Abbi will be having her second injection on Thursday so we will be out & about in Hay & starting puppy classes at GVDT, so I am sure we will have more to report then
Abbi is a really loving girl, eager to please & developing a real character..if you would like to come & meet her or would like to know more about her please feel free to ring me 01497 847073 or contact the kennels

Some more Photos of the beautiful Abbi out in the garden enjoying yesterday's sunshine, I wonder what she will think off the snow if it comes!!
Abbi continues to be a joy she meets all two & four legged visitors with a smile & waggy tail....she took her first steps on a lead yesterday & travelled a short distance in the car with out being sick (Result)..can't wait till she can have a proper stroll out & about

Re: Iris - Crossbreed, Bitch (14 weeks).
Big day for Abbi today we went to the Old Railway Nursery garden centre for a bit of social time...there were lots of ooh's & arrh's & cuddles & she loved every bit of it , she walked well on her lead & was only frightened off the cars when they came past ..so more work needed there then!...however she met the resident cat who she would have liked to play with but he had other ideas so one quick hiss & swipe of a paw & my brave girl backed off & said " best left then!!"......She then had a walk in the fields with my three & a friends two & we met two more no reaction at all they just ran & mooched about together, I think she will be brilliant with other dogs if her new parents keep up the socialisation..
Abbi has visitors on Sunday a lady saw her poster in the vets & is bringing all the family to meet her I'm sure you will all keep everything crossed & hope that they are a perfect match.( all except Gerry whose face fell when I told him & I noticed she had extra cuddles last night !!!

Abbi's visitors loved her & she them, so all being well & subject to her home check she should be off to a wonderful life as a real family girl...good luck little one you are an absolute sweetie..let's hope your brothers & sisters can be next.

Iris (formerly Abbi)
A message from Iris's new family
ris (formerly Abi) has been with us for two weeks now, and is already part of the family! She is very affectionate and loving to us all, and really gentle with our three young children. She has walked to school with us several times, and loved meeting the other children. She also loves the company of other dogs, and has had some really good games. She eats as if she has never been fed before, despite still being on three meals a day! She hasn't completely grasped the house training, but she is improving all the time, and has had several completely accident free nights. She sits perfectly when asked and walks well on the lead. This was started by her lovely foster carer, Sarah, who had her for two weeks, and took her to puppy training classes. We will continue the training at home, and the children have been teaching her to lie down, and to give them her paw (needs improvement!) She is a great family dog, and we're really pleased with her. Thankyou Sarah and Forest Dog Rescue
