Beeches Green Camp site, Chepstow
Another camping venture - this time we had Nelly with us to keep Nibs and Sam in check.
This campsite did not charge for dogs which was a real bonus. You did have to keep the dogs tethered on the field - but just a very short walk and you were into the woods with walks that went to Devil's Pulpit which overlooks Tintern Abbey and then down to Brockweir as well as many other routes. My 6.30 am walks were brilliant, I met no one
Some random views of the site including one of the beautiful sunsets - we were really lucky that we enjoyed a lovely sunset every night... no cloud cover or rain in the evenings at all... in fact very little rain at all.
We went to Usk twice and found a lovely safe spot in the river to cool off - some people cooled off more than they expected but great fun was had by all.... Sam was like a demon possessed and decided to collect rocks from the river bed and put them on the bank:
On the first trip to Usk we went back via Monmouth and decided to have a meal out - we went to the Robin Hood on a recommendation that afternoon and wet clothes, people and dogs all went for a meal... it was delicious...There was absolutely no problem with us having the damp dogs in the beer garden.
I went for a lot of walks with Frank and the dogs ... Nibs had to have crate rest towards the end as he had knackered his pads on the pebbles in the river.
Again, another definite return visit on the cards for next year.
