Canny Collar Empty Canny Collar

It's horses for courses, but my best success with strong pulling dogs has been the Canny Collar. I particularly like it because the control is from the back of the neck, not one side of the face. Also, when giving the dog time off lead, you can clip the nose tape around the neck without having to take the whole thing off.

Like with any training aid, I see this as a temporary measure, not a long term solution. The long term solution is patient, persistent training to make the dog walk to heel.

Canny Collar Empty K9 Bridle

Post  WetNose Fri Dec 21, 2012 2:15 am

All good advice Ria, these aids are there to offer control in the short term but as we all know a quick fix rarely works long term. Another head collar type aid is the K9 Bridle, I've found if fitted correctly it can really help in giving the handler more confidence in their ability to safely control a large dog , just under £20 but available by internet only i think it's certainly worth considering as long as it's hand in hand with a workable retraining program :-)
